Your first appointment at Vaught Orthodontics will be as comfortable and informative as possible. We pride ourselves on open communication with our patients, and we want you to leave understanding your treatment options with confidence in your orthodontists and team.
During your first appointment, we are excited to welcome you to the office. A complete clinical exam will be performed, which will include a review of your medical/dental history, an examination of your teeth and bite, an estimation of treatment time, and appropriate fees.
Diagnostic Records
Diagnostic records are made to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records typically include photos of the patient’s face and teeth, as well as digital imaging and 3D study models of the teeth (if needed). This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.
Consultation
After the doctor has evaluated your records, we will discuss your specific orthodontic problems with you in detail, and explain your treatment options. We will also identify the best time to begin treatment, estimate how long treatment will last, and tell you how much treatment will cost. You’re welcome to ask as many questions as you want- we are here to help!
Regular Appointments
The first step towards an amazing smile begins at your first appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) This usually takes from one to two hours. Because we use the latest technology in orthodontics, you don’t need to come back as frequently. After braces are placed, you will schedule appointments about every 8 weeks, which usually take 15 to 30 minutes. This means less school and work missed.
Your scheduled appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately so that we can reschedule you as close to the original appointment as possible.
Cost
The cost of treatment depends on the difficulty of the case, the appliances needed, and the length of your treatment. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have interest-free payment plans to suit different budgets, discounts for payment in full at the beginning of treatment, and multi-family member discounts. We also accept assignments from most insurance plans, and we will file the necessary paperwork for you. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.
Your treatment fee includes:
– Records and digital imaging
– All appliances
– All orthodontic visits including emergencies
– One set of retainers
– Retainer follow-up visits for six months after appliances are removed
– We will review all the fees associated with treatment and the financial options available during your complimentary orthodontic consultation. It is our goal to provide the highest quality orthodontic care that is affordable to you and your family.
Insurance
If you have insurance, we will help you to determine the coverage available. Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. Thus, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
